We arrived at the beach and I looked at it in awe. It was the absolute cleanest beach I had seen since I was little. I ran out to the water and splashed in, laughing. "Ash, this is the best beach I have seen since I was little! It's so clean!" I said excitedly, standing in the water. I willed myself to stay dry. It was a bit chilly today...

Ash only smiled while she was listening to Luci's story about her sister, but the second that Luci saw the beach, Ash's smile only broadened. "Yeah, the sons and daughters of Poseidon like to keep it seriously clean," she said sitting down on the soft sand. Feeling a slight breeze blow, Ash smiled and breathed in the salty air. "I heard there was going to be a beach rave and party down here sometime later in the week," She said. "So enjoy the peacefulness before people start to come," Ash added jokingly.

"Calli!" I called, standing a bit further out then I meant to go. Shrugging I walked back and sat down next to Ash. "What's a rave?" I asked curiously. It didn't sound familiar to me. Must be something new... Well, new within the last hundred years. "I know what a party is... Well, unless it has changed. Will it be a dinner party or an afternoon tea?" I asked curiously. Sure, I had been wandering the streets and catching up on fashions but I was still fairly clueless.

Staring at Luci, Ash realized that she wasn't kidding. Pursing her lips together, Ash thought for a moment. "Let's see... How can I put it in the nicest yet funnest way ever..." she thought aloud for a moment. Firstly, a party these days I highly doubt are like the parties when you were here... Now, a party is when there's a DJ, a person who puts music on speakers, plays dance music. Friends get together or a couple goes as a day or you can go alone. I often go alone. Sometimes there's a dinner during the party, and often times girls prefer to wear dresses, not me but most, and boys wear something nice... Usually. Also, there are times where there are slow dances for couples." Finishing up her own definition of a party, Ash thought about what she should say a rave is... "Now a rave... Raves are often seriously crazy party with louder music, more wild dancing rather than usual dancing. Also sometimes there's underage drinking," Ash said with a smile. She also only snickered at the last sentence. Turning to Luci, Ash asked, "What were parties like back before your time in the Lotus Hotel?"

"That seems far different from our parties. Women had afternoon tea parties. I only attended three and hosted one though. There wasn't any dancing at those, just practicing being a hostess. We had ballroom dances. Women were escorted by their fathers, brothers, husbands, or some times even beaus! That was rare though. There was tangos, waltz, foxtrots, and dances like that. We didn't have DJs. It was usually a small orchestra. Dinner parties were hosted my the richest families and invitation to one was a great honor. It was a formal dinner, usually followed by a display of skills by the younger generation then entertainment the hostess provides. Underage drinking? Is there an age limit on drinks now?" I asked after explaining our different parties. Their parties sounded odd to me but I was willing to try it. "[color:cde3=66FF99]What kind of dresses are worn?" I asked realizing I would need to buy one.

Ash listened intently as Luci explained the parties that she had attended. "Those parties seem... Interesting. In the slow dances today sometimes people waltz. In all truth I've never learned how to waltz," Ash commented. "Only to drinks in what you would call, I think, booze. You know, alcoholic stuff. And dresses that we wear today depend on the person I suppose. Some girls like really short dresses with no sleeves. Some like long dresses with sleeves or straps. I prefer neither. I could take you to the mall not too far from Camp if you'd like; we could sneak out." Ash shrugged. She didn't really enjoy dresses or anything too girl in truth, but she would wear them on special occasions. "What kind of dresses did you wear during those afternoon teas?" she asked, interested.

"I wasn't old enough to learn to waltz before my mum died. My beau tried to teach me after but he didn't really know how to much either. Most women wore either hobble or tunic skirts. I preferred my tunic skirt. The underskirts went to about my ankle and the top, tunic went to about the middle of my calf. They had a lot of printing and and detail on them." I explained idly, playing with the lace on my cardigan

Ash only nodded slightly. She scanned around the beach thinking about what she could do. Then, she looked down on the slightly damp sand in front of her. With a smile, she sat up straight and began making a big square, hollow box from the sand. "So you had a beau, huh?" Ash asked, slyly.

I turned a bit red but nodded sadly. "Yes, I did... He was a black boy two years older than me. I brought my mum lunch while she was working on the docks and met him. He died eleven years ago but I met his son and daughter. He married a good friend of mine," I told her drawing patterns in the sand. It was good he didn't wait his whole life for me. I wanted him to have been happy. Sam had been happy from what his son told me. It made me happy that he had told his children all about me though. At least I was important to him right up to the end.

"It doesn't appear that way," I said with a sigh. "Her life doesn't revolve around myself though. She has much other important business to attend to besides being a messenger for myself. I can come back later I suppose." I told Ash, realizing she probably had things to do and I was interfering. For all I knew she could have been on her way to a date and I interrupted that.
